Michael Frost
Founder/Director

 Director, Editor and Producer, Michael Frost came to Los Angeles in 1998, after winning the prestigious KODAK/Eastman award at SUNY Binghamton. Beginning with Vin De Bona productions on America’s Funniest Videos Michael soon embarked on a career in video production and editing before moving on to 3 LEGGED CAT in Westwood.

Since then Michael has worked for many successful editing houses in Hollywood such as THE DVD GROUP, TRAILER PARK, CREATIVE ASYLUM amassing a solid portfolio with DVD Special Edition products on I ROBOT, CLOVERFIELD, THE BANK JOB, and MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3. He even landed the plum role of producing the documentary SOFT SELL: EMMANUELLE IN AMERICA.

In addition to documentary production, Michael directed and edited the critically acclaimed short film 3STORIES ABOUT EVIL (2008) starring Mink Stole & Joe Dallesandro which has gone on to win awards at the Boston Underground Film Festival, RADAR/Hamburg, DragonCom Atlanta, and the Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles.

In 2009 Michael directed and edited the noir-musical faux documentary THE HARVEY GIRL FROM SHANGHAI which is currently on the festival circuit, most recently at the Boston Underground Film Festival in March 2010. That same year he produced the documentary IT ALL HAPPENS HERE: ABEL FERRARA & THE MAKING OF ‘BAD LIEUTENANT’ for Lionsgate.

With HELSINKI PRODUCTIONS Michael is currently working on DVD original content on a variety of top television shows such as MEDIUM and CRIMINAL MINDS while also producing, directing, and editing commercial & industrial video for internet and traditional delivery such as the WALTERFILM.COM vintage film poster series.

Charles Wright
Founder/Producer

 After many years as a media editor and research academic, Charles came into the communicative visual arts after a stint running the marketing department of financial services group.  With a knack for creating and wedding visual and sound elements it was only natural to fall into the role of digital media producer and designer.

Charles came to HELSINKI PRODUCTION in 2008 for his first collaboration with Michael Frost for the award winning experimental film ANTIVIRGEN1: CHI SEI? with innovative sound design to match the progressively trippier visual elements.

That same year he worked as an editorial assistant for the 2009 release of WEAK SPECIES directed by Dan Faltz.In 2009, Charles produced the short film THE HARVEY GIRL FROM SHANGHAI for HELSINKI PRODUCTIONS including art direction and music supervision. He also edited documentary materials for the re-release of Luis Buñuel’s DEATH IN THE GARDEN, as well as providing the closed caption translations.

Currently Charles is producing the WALTERFILM web series and a number of music video projects in addition to continued work on upcoming scripted features and shorts.
